Judge Abdul G. Koroma

Judge Abdul G. Koroma is a former member of the International Court of Justice. He served as a judge from 1994-2012. He studied Law and Philosophy at Kiev State University and King’s College London. Judge Koroma inter alia served as a Barrister and Legal Practitioner of the High Court of Sierra Leone, worked as a delegate to several UN bodies, as an Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary as well as an expert consultant with the International Committee of the Red Cross. Between 1982 and 1994 Judge Koroma was a member of the International Law Commission and was former chairman of the Committee mandated to elaborate a Draft Statute for an International Criminal Court. He delivered lectures on major areas of international law such as the law of self-determination, human rights law, international humanitarian law, and the peaceful settlement of disputes. Judge Koroma is Member of the International Institute of Humanitarian Law and of the Institute of International Law.
